Yoshi-san ran with me from one point to another, pushing my MUSASHI, Baby Jogger instead of me.
He parked his car here and there.
After running, he ran back to his car, and then drove to the next point.
He ran about 34 miles.
Chilly in the morning but there was no wind and it was sunny, I felt warm in the afternoon.
Said goodbye to Yoshi-san around 1:30 PM.
He'll come and see me again after NYC Marathon.
Thanks a lot, Yoshi-san!

Day 112 Springfield - Ccolumbus 34.0 miles
Frost and frozen mist...
They say it was snowing in the North-east coast.
Maybe they'll enjoy White Halloween!
Yoshi-san, a friend of mine came up and see me from Michigan in his car.
We had a party at night.
We met for the first time but I didn't feel like it.
Soon I'll be iin Pensylvannia.

Day 111 Dayton - Springfield 35.7 miles
Mostly cloudy but it's good for me never to sweat while running.
Some rolling hills annoyed me especially in the morning.
I'm wondering if I have already started climbing Apalachian Mountains.
There was one point where I couldn't find the street sign.
I was glad that Garmin GPS showed me the street name.
I arrived at the motel I was supposed to stay at 5pm but there was no vacancy.
So I ran back 1.2 miles where there was another motel and checked in.

Day 110 Richmond - Dayton(Ohio) 31.4 miles
Started in the rain at 8 AM.
Not that cold.
Maybe I am getting used to the cold weather.
Kept running without rest till 32 miles point.
Took a short break and ate blueberry pie and drank a sip of Gatorade.
Stopped raining in the afternoon.
Time passed so faast today I didn't take a look at my wrist watch.

Day 108 New Castle - Richmond 31.3 miles
Perfect sunny day.
The sky was blue and it was warm enough to run.
A day after a long run, my legs were kind of heavy.
Tomorrow I'll take a day off to recover myself.
The state border of Ohio is almost there.
One month later, I'll be in NYC.

Day 107 Indianapolis - New Castle 38.8 miles
The longest run in the 2nd stage of PEACE RUN Running Across America.
It was raining early in the morning but cleared up in the afternoon.
Running all day with nothing in my mind.
Running is really moving ZEN.
It's very difficult to be ZEN master but I feel like getting closer.
The state of Ohio is just around the corner.
NYC is not that far.
I'm sure I can make it!

Day 106 Plainfield - Indianapolis 22.3 miles
Cloudy but warm enough.
I saw a cherry tree blooming some flowers in downtown Indianapolis.
Short day. Finished around 2 pm.
Today a total distance from LA recorded 4000km (2500miles).
Another 1000km (620miles) , just one-fifth of the whole distance, is left to New York City.

Another warm sunny day!
Norider-san followed me today too.
He drove some miles ayay before me, parked his car and biked back.
And then biked after me to support my running.
Sometimes the shoulders of the road were too narrow to push MUSHASHI, Baby Jogger.
The sky was perfect blue.
Indian summer was with me all the time for 2 days in a row.

Another tough day.
Rained all day and wind was so chilly that my hands were numb and me feet felt severe pain as if they had been soaked into ice water.
The temperature was around 40 degrees.
It'll be much colder tomorrow!
The happiest thing is when I finished my run at the motel.
But to my soorow there was no bath tub!

Day 101 Effingham - Casey 36.2 miles
Rained all day.
It was around 40 degrees in the morning.
It is the coldest day I've ever had in this run.
I must have got ready to run in the cold rain but it was not that easy...
An 18 wheeler splashed mud water all over me when it passed by.
My hands were numb because of cold rain.
I could't open a cap of a pet bottle.
Rain sneaked into my shoes.
My socks were wet too but while running my feet never got cold.
I wished it had stopped rain in the afternoon.
After a day off in Effingham, it was kind of hard time.
PLEASE don't be too hard on me tomorrow!

Day99 Vandalia - Effengham 34.1 miles
Many people go to church on Sundays.
But I don't.
Why?
Because the planet of earth is my church.
God must be with us all the time.
And I pray for WORLD PEACE.
I run for WORLD PEACE.
May all of us live in PEACE.
May God help us create WORLD PEACE.

Day 98 Greenville - Vandalia 20.9 miles
Chilly!
46 degrees in the morning.
Soon it'll be 30's.
But when the sun came up, it got warm enough.
Google Map cheated me again!
When I reached Vandalia, today's goal, there was no motel where it should have been!
I wonder why...
I tried seeing the Google Map Street View.
There was no motel, but instead there was someone's house out there.
Mysterious!
Anyway I am OK.
Finished safely today too.

Short day.
Finished before noon.
Sunny but cool.
Wind was a bit chilly, which means witer is drawing near.
Find towns every 12-20 miles.
Have no difficulty finding a place to get food and water.
I don't have to carry so much food and water.
Next weekend I'll be in Indiana.

Day 96 Downtown St. Louis - Highland (Illinois) 34.6 miles
Cross the Mckinley Bridge on the Mississippi River and finally I enterd the state of Illinois!
I don't like big cities and busy roads.
So I felt ease when I hit into Woodland Trail which started at Horseshoe Lake.
The trail ended iin Troy and I took HWY 162 and US 40 to get to Highland.
Long day but tail wind pushed me a lot.
Non stop run for 8 days in a row.
I can run much longer and farther.

Day 95 St.Louis (Westport) - Downtown St.Louis 20.2 miles
Had some rain early in the morning but it had stopped just before I started.
Mostly cloudy except some scattered rain in the late morning.
The trouble is that I got lost in downtown area because big construction was going on in the central part of the city.
According to De tour sign, I kept going avoiding the construction part.
But after all I came back to where I had started.
I arrived at the motel but ran 3.5 miles more than I had expected.
Tomorrow I'll cross the Mississippi and enter the state of Illinois.

Enjoyed nice view of Cleve Couer Lake.

Day93 Warrenton - Lake St. Louis 21.6 miles
Kind of boring day.
The scenery is almost the same, running along the Interstate.
It's the Great Plain, isn't it?
The closer I get to St. Louis, the bigger the size of town becomes.
Almost every town has McDonald's and conveniencestores.
Some of them has Walmart.
I remember running in the desert area.
Once I found McDonald's, next one is 3 or 4 days later or longer.
It was almost impossible to find Walmart in the desert.
All I found was a small grocery store.
It's not 24 hours open.
Traveling is a succession of discovery.
I'm studying a lot.

Day 92 New Florence - Warrenton 20 miles
Short day.
Because of my bad shinsplint, I chenged the schedule, quitting my run on the way Warrenton.
I wish I could have run till Wentzville.
Warrenton is a kind of big town.
The motel is also good, cheap (about $35) with microwave and fridge.
But I can't access the Internet, out of network in my room.
So I access the Internet, sitting in front of the office, with a mosquito bothering me...

Sunny, warm day.
Have had no rain so far.
Google Map cheated me so often.
I wasted about 3 miles today.
The truth is different from the information I got on Google Map.
But anyway I got to keep going.
Just before the goal, a young cute lady from the MISSOURIAN, local paper came up to me for a interview.
Actually I showed up on the paper 20 years ago.
Looking forward to seeing the article.

Warm day, actually too warm to run and the air is so dry that I drank a lot of gatorade.
Reached Columbia in the late morning and kept going to Kingdom City.
At 5:30 I checked in at the motel in Kingdom City.
Right shin is maybe OK.
St.Louis is getting closer.
Soon I'll be in Illinois.

Day 86 Blackwater - Boonville 18 miles
Got something wrong with my right shin.
It was 40 degrees just like the first day of winter in the morning.
But it's warm enough to run in the daytime.
The colors of the autumn leaves are gorgeous.
Often see lots of pumpkins here and there.
Tomorrow I'll take a day off to take a perfect rest.

Lose my way sometimes.
Today I enjoyed trail running in the moutain the name of which I don't know.
Felt like getting back to wilderness.
Today's goal is Blackwater.
It's a very small town with population 199.
Good old west is still alive here.
Saw some cowboys in town.

Day83 Grain Valley - Higginsville 32.3 miles
Wasting 4 miles because I left my Thermos at the motel I stayed last night.
Sometimes something like that happens.
Running along the Interstate 70, it's kind of boring to go on.
Lots of rolling hills caused me damages on my right sin.
Running alone, but I feel good surrounded by the great nature.
